In this workshop, you'll be introduced to risograph printing and get to create an edition of 20, two-colour, 8 1/2" x 11" prints that you design, as well as keep one print from each of the other participants to start your own riso print collection!
Risograph printing is a stencil-based method that can be used to create everything from posters to zines. Similar to screen printing, each colour is printed as a separate layer which can be overlapped to create beautiful blends and vibrant tones.
Want to learn more and meet others who do too? Join us for this three-hour workshop where we'll show riso examples, provide a demonstration of how to use the machine, and give you time and materials to make your own two-colour print. You'll then get to trade prints with everyone else in the class to start your own riso collection.
All materials, including paper and mark-making tools, will be included. The workshop will also grant access to use the risograph during our open studio hours (which will be announced later this summer).
This workshop will be led by Chris Morin and Void’s studio assistant Meagan Hong. Hope you can join us!
**Also a huge and continuing thank-you to Kate Bingaman-Burt and her risograph studio, Outlet, from whom we first learned riso printing (and from whom we have borrowed much of the format and description for this workshop).
