Grant Writing

This course will take participants through the full process of writing a grant from researching opportunities to preparing a submission. Amalie Atkins, an internationally-exhibiting new media artist, and Michael Peterson, owner of Void Gallery, will show participants how to identify appropriate opportunities and will then work with participants through each step of the grant-writing process: forming community partnerships, preparing a portfolio of images, developing a budget, and writing the grant. At the end of the course each participant will have prepared a submission package for the grant they have chosen.

Amalie and Michael have a wide range of grant-writing experience from Saskatchewan Arts Board (Independent Artist, Artist in Schools, Artist in Communities) to Creative Saskatchewan to Canada Council grants.

This course is intended for artists of all skill levels who want to refine their professional practices or improve their creative business skills. It is suitable for early-career artists learning new techniques or experienced artists who would like to receive support and feedback throughout processes they have been undertaking for years.

Made possible with support from Creative Saskatchewan’s Business Capacity Grant Program.
